There are good sides to this experience. Tony was a complete professional. He answered all questions completely and did do his job professionally. You can't get that with Amazon and God forbid that you get a damaged product, thier return process for large shipments is horrendous and expensive! .

To the business owners , please read this review and try to correct these bumps. You guys are much better than walmart and others in your business. But I expect complete satisfaction if I am to pay top dollar for your products.

Summer has arrived in Buffalo - cycling is the perfect way to enjoy it ! And Tom’s Pro Bike is the perfect shop for all your cycling needs !

It’s a smaller footprint than their Lancaster location but you can expect the same great customer service, excellent selection & friendly staff that you have come to expect at the Lancaster shop. Don’t let the “Pro” in Tom’s Pro Bike keep you from visiting these shops - Tom & his staff will work with you to make sure you have the right equipment & gear to meet your cycling needs whether you are a seasoned rider, new to the sport or somewhere in between. The employees are all cyclists themselves & truly enjoy sharing their knowledge & love of the sport with you.

To the person reading this, make sure that you plan your purchase ahead of time, so that you have the option of have a freshly assembled bike for your use.

Here I was . With Amazon and thier scathing reviews. With Bert's and thier very expensive bikes. And with Tony and his false promises. I needed a new bike and took a leap of faith with them. I bought the bikes, together with the cheap accessories. I just hope thier products don't cause me any more resentment. I love bikes but this experience is the only one where I leave it all to faith.

I love bikes. I have been riding one since I was 5. My current bike was a $150 one from Walmart and that was bought about 12 years ago. Even then it lasted me a long time . The brakes stopped working and I had a hard time around intersections . It was time for a new bike. I went to the store and Tony showed me multiple bikes. I was interested in a mountain bike. ( Disk brakes are my weakness ). But it was priced at the high end . I left the store, trying to find a better deal. I looked at Amazon , where they had the very expensive bikes ($1500 and up) with promising reviews but also cheap ones with scathing reviews. Bikes at Bert's started at $1600 but they were of very high quality ( carbon fiber all throughout. )

I am a college student so finances are often tight throughout the year. Even then I selected the bike that I initially liked. I explained my situation to Tony, who was sympathetic, but could not offer me a deal. He did offer me a free bottle and a container for it, which sounds good but was actually very cheap . I didn't understand how a high end bike could be paired with cheap accessories. It felt like an insult. Usually when I buy something high end, I feel confident that I will have perks that will make the transaction well worth the trouble ( thank you Ziegler Honda!) But here I was , buying a high end bike with a bottle that Aldi would give away!. Another wierd thing is that I was given the floor model, which isn't the norm. I have bought bikes for my siblings many times and all places offer a packaged bike which is assembled for you . This ensures that the bike is brand fricking new but Tom's gave me a bike that may have been ridden by countless people as thier test drive. ( Lord knows how much stress they put on the bike ) . I asked them to Clean it for me because it was very dirty. The tires looked like someone had repeatedly hard-braked ( to test them out. ) I inquired about it but Tony answered that he wanted to assure me that the bike was assembled last week. I asked to see some sort of documentation and he said that such papers don't exist. ( You are a business , you are required to record every single thing. ) I walked away from the store. And was very dissatisfied.

The best! Professional and friendly. Honest and trustworthy. Not looking to sell but to help.

The service & support you receive from Tom’s continues long after the sale too. It’s not uncommon to see Tom & his staff providing SAG support for local charity rides. Tom’s also sponsors many of their own rides & service clinics … just for the fun of it. You can find the details at their website or in the shop.

Just when I thought Tom’s Pro Bike couldn’t get any better, they did ! Located at 9430 Transit Road in East Amherst is the newest location of Tom’s Pro Bike. I visited the new shop recently & was impressed with the selection of merchandise & the service I received. I am now riding in style with my new shoes, socks & helmet that I purchased that day.

Great buying experience. Answered all my questions and even took care of small manufacturing defects on the bike no questions asked. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Would highly recommend. I will be going back to do more business with them.

NOT SO Super knowledgeable staff!!! They knew exactly what I needed. They also had Great advice and even a new place to try MTBing.

If this bikes lasts long, I will be very loyal with Tom's. If not, then Oh well, when life gives you lemons, you ride it out ( no pun intended ) .

One month later....forget what I said. They got me into a pair of clip in MTB shoes. The clipping on and off the bike worked great. The trouble began about 20min from the truck with SEVERE foot pain in both feet. The next day I limped into the shop and Tom himself helped me and asked me to try/buy a supported insert for $30. That this should fix the problem and if not "he stands behind all his product so not to worry". The following week it was just as bad. He tried adjusting the toe clip position and I tried once again. To no avail I continued to limp around for days after each ride. I went to return them after three rides (2 more than I wanted to but was edged to by Tom) and He himself hosed me for a restocking charge on the shoes and $0 refund on the inserts he said to "try". THIS WILL BE THE LAST $80 YOU WILL EVER GET FROM ME TOM. I hope it' was worth it. There are plenty of other local bike shops that will treat their customers better.
